Wheelchair Basketball Canada × Toyota Canada · Draft for discussion

Eight seasons on our court.Quebec 2027 is the reason to come back.

In September Toyota became National Mobility Partner of the Canada Games. In February, wheelchair basketball is on the program at Quebec 2027, with athletes with and without disabilities on the same court. Your vehicles will be at the Games either way. We'd like the sport on that court to be yours all year, with your dealers in it.

A note first

Steve, in June 2017 Toyota Canada became Official Mobility Sponsor and Official Vehicle of Wheelchair Basketball Canada. It backed all four of our national team programs, presented Hoopfest and presented our National Academy. Cyril signed it, and said at the time that "sports inspire people to overcome barriers and to get moving."

You may not have inherited that history, so here is the short version. Toyota presented Hoopfest every year to 2024, when the Ottawa edition raised $15,000 toward the first World Championships held in Canada. Tony Graham Toyota entered a team that night and took bronze. In 2025 the presenting title moved to TD and Toyota stayed on as an event sponsor. We'd rather ask you why than guess.

Since then you've signed the Canada Games to 2031, and Toyota's community focus is still inclusion through physical accessibility. No sport in Canada shows that more plainly than ours, and there's no automaker in our partner book today. This is a proposal to come back as our Official Vehicle Partner, built around your dealers, starting at Quebec 2027.

What you'd be backing

The first Worlds held in Canada. Then the next three years.

In September Ottawa hosted the men's and women's World Championships together for the first time. Our women lost the final to the USA by one point, 77 to 76, in front of a packed TD Place. That team is the core of what we're asking you to back.

The build

Official Vehicle Partner of Wheelchair Basketball Canada.

Three seasons, 2027 to 2029, built in four pieces. Everything here is WBC's to sell: our national teams, our events, our programs and our channels. No Paralympic marks, and none needed.

National teams

The vehicle for every national team program

Senior Women, Senior Men and our junior programs, travelling to camps, Nationals and community clinics in Toyota vehicles, electrified where the fleet allows. Your name with the national teams at our events and on our channels.

Quebec 2027

Bring the sport to your Canada Games

You already hold the Games mobility rights. We add national team athletes and coaches for a try-it session with your Quebec region dealers during the Games, and the content to tell it. Your Council deal puts the vehicles there. Ours puts Toyota on the court.

Dealers

The Toyota Dealers Cup

A 3x3 wheelchair basketball challenge for dealer teams, played at our 2027 Nationals in Montreal and the CWBL Finals in Charlottetown. It is the Hoopfest format, half a day and fully inclusive, which has run since 2017. Regional dealer associations can co-fund their own edition. Hoopfest stays with TD; this is new, and yours by name.

Measured in dealers taking part and local stories run, not impressions.
Stories

Human movement, in your register

A short series for Toyota's channels on our athletes and the people who get them to the court, written to sit beside "The More We Get Together". Some of these athletes have worn Team Toyota before. [athlete permissions to confirm]

The measurable part

A dealer report every season

Dealers involved, events played, local media and social pieces, vehicles in service, kilometres driven on zero-emission power. Delivered in September, before your next budget round.
